Empower women and choose a female writer to read today.
Stand FOR not against other women who are or are not able to participate in International Women’s day.
It’s a privilege you don’t have to work today. Some women do because they have to. Some women are the primary means of income in their family.
Take control of what YOU can do. Get out of default mode.
I’m choosing not to spend any money today. My economic power is in my control.
I’m also choosing that when I do spend it will be for the betterment of all women. I shop at businesses owned by women when I can find them, even if it means going farther out of my way. I will encourage all women to be the best of themselves.
My commitment is everyday, not just this one day out of the year.
My mother was a single parent and she would not have been able to take the day off. She had three girls to raise on her income.
Today is not a vacation. It’s a day for you to take action if in a way that you are able to, that helps support all women.
I don’t have the answer for you of what that looks like. You have to find that out for yourself.
For International Women’s Day I put together this list of 100 international female authors to help all of us spend more time using and networking with more goods, services, stories, films, businesses and everything to do with empowering and furthering the development of women.
One of my favorite writers, Suzette Haden Elgin supports feminist science fiction, saying “women need to realize that SF (science fiction) is the only genre of literature in which it’s possible for a writer to explore the question of what this world would be like if you could get rid of [X], where [X] is filled in with any of the multitude of real world facts that constrain and oppress women.
Can you imagine a world where women everywhere networked and purchased and supported other females?
Can you imagine how your life would be if you were 100% respected, supported, and menstrual supplies, and pregnancy and childbirth were free?
Can you imagine a world where there were representatives that governed our world that had an equal amount of female representation?
Now can you imagine if you were born into a world where this was in already in place? Who would you be?
This list is not in any particular order, nor is it a comprehensive list of all female writers. What this list does contain is a wide range of genres, situations, stories, circumstances, religions, locations, nationalities, sexual orientation, social class, political alliances, family structures and I’m sure a few other things I haven’t mentioned.
My mission is to help individuals and businesses make a difference and make a profit. I’m Suzette Mariel, CEO of EJ Sports, LLC and High Performance Coach. Thanks for downloading this PDF. I hope you find it useful.
